Should a 33 year old married man be playing video games when he has a wife and two small children?

My husband is addicted to Final Fantasy 7 on the computer. He somehow downloaded it. Anyway, he has been off work the past two days, which is rare. We hardly ever see him. Yesterday afternoon he played it, I had to pull him off, then yesterday evening after the kids went to sleep he played it for an hour and I had to beg him to come watch a movie with me. Then, he actually cuddled with me and waited until I fell asleep and played the game until 2:30 in the morning, I slept on the couch all by myself, until he woke me up. I like to watch wrestling. And I have confronted him about the video game issue and he is threatening to destroy all of my 55 WWE autographs and my dvds and magazines. I don’t sit at the computer for hours on end, and wrestling is on twice a week. I don’t know what to do. And I asked him if he would let me sleep in this morning, he did. However, I woke up to the kids crying and i walked in on him playing his game. PLEASE HELP! He is 33, I am 22. Our kids are 1 and 2
I stay at home with the kids, and they are my life and I would have it no other way. I never out with “the girls”. thats just not my style. He is a wonderful father and husband, I deeply love him, however the only hobbies he has it work, reading, and video games.
I try to watch him play and take interest he says its embarrassing for me to watch him play his game.

Should I stop beating my kids? I mean i guess i was easy on them when they were young but i guess im to harsh on them because i want them to see the world is not easy i mean my dad did it to me and my mom and i think im better for it. My wife said i was far to harsh on them i was pretty upset when she said that but i got over on it. And one of my kid’s teachers told me in a meeting that it was not ok and he was very depressed about it. Even worse i believe they are going to tell there teachers and kids in there class i don’t want them in my Business. My brother and dad say i should keep doing it so im torn should i stop beating my kids at video games, Board games etc?

but thanks to him IM A MAN now and i play football he used to beat me in video games and all that but it tought me the MEANING OF LOSING he used to be real tough on me like i play football and when i dropped a pass he would yell at me and say i was never going to make the nfl like that

My husband and i are fighting a lot lately. he will come home after work, and go immediately and play his video games all night. and i will take care of our kids, and do my own thing. i feel bad, seems like we are more like room ates. than husband and wife. how do i fix this?

He’s looking for an outlet or distraction. If it’s excessive there may be an underlying problem. Maybe he feels depressed, has financial pressures or is avoiding responsibility. Whatever it is, you need to talk to him about it. Don’t argue or fight. First just try to find out if there’s anything on his mind, but you must be genuinely concerned, otherwise he might get defensive. If he continues ot tell you nothing is wrong, then let him know that although you understand that he enjoys video games, it makes you a little sad because you feel he’s not spending enough time with you or the kids. Let him know that you’re not trying to stop him from what he’s doing but that you ask if he can try to balance his time a bit. He’s a father and a husband. That should come before the video games. Once he’s spent time with the family he should be able to have time to himself. Also, try giving him an incentive to come to bed. Let him know he has something special waiting for him in the bedroom. You know what I’m talking about. If you’ve been avoiding this, then you can’t really complain about his late night video games. He has to distract himself in some way.

How can I identify a pedophile?

There is a rumor about a man in our neighborhood. He always has kids in his yard. He is a stay at home dad and the wife works. He used to invite kids in to play video games. He is a braggart and a little obnoxious but I am not sure he is a pedophile, only other people without concrete evidence say so. My child has played at the house and now I’m afraid to let him go back there. This man has a couple of kids of his own.
Duh, he isn’t registered!!! Has not done anything or has not been caught …. !!! Otherwise would I even be asking! What I want to know is if there are any definite ways to identify a pedophile. Not all have acted on impulses or been caught.
I agree that it’s a horrible rumor if not true. You have to wonder why every single person thinks it true though!
He is an odd man who seems to have no adult friends at all. He told my son he is building a basketball court in his yard and he does like basketball a lot, however, other adults think this project is to attract kids. My gut feeling is that I do not like him and that he is annoying but I never was afraid of him or felt he was a pedophile until other people said things about him. I’m hoping he just isn’t being misjudged because he is a Mr. Mom.

If he has not been convicted as a sex offender, it would be difficult to know for sure. However, it is questionable for a man to show intimate or otherwise unusual interest in children who are not his. In other words, if he seems more interested in them than their own parents are, one has to wonder why. If there is a rumor, it could be a lie, but you don’t see smoke without fire. It sounds odd that a grown man invites kids in to play video games. Certainly, if he has his own kids his hands should be pretty busy caring for them. In addition to that, nowadays most adults are very aware of child molestation and attempt to avoid misunderstandings or the appearance of wrongdoing. My gut feeling from the details you gave, is that you need to keep your child away from this man. The fact that he also has children does not mean anything as lots of pedophiles have wives and children and often molest their own children.

I don’t know what my kids look like anymore. They like video games more then me and my wife. If I take it away, they will leave and go to a friends out to play more video games. I believe video games can be a tool of satan to destroy families.

How can i get my wife back from Twilight?

My wife just started reading the 1st book about a week ago.. she is now on book 4. It all started when she told me she wanted to leave me for a romantic vampire. That began our downfall. For the past week we have been fussing at each other and just unhappy. The second i get home, she just sits and reads while i do everything with the 4 kids until i put them to bed. She complains about everything i do now and is also sarcastic about everything. Now she says she wants to have sex with a vampire. We did it the other night and yea.. that was borring. She just laid there and went back to reading the book when we were done. It is starting to get me angry and i can feel my anger starting to rub off on the kids.

I dont mind her having a hobby.. its great. I just dont like the change that i am seeing in her. When she is done with the series, she is gunna be depressed and will take it out on me.

I kinda see it from her point of view though.. i used to have an online gaming addiction and i would be in a bad mood pretty much all day unless i was playing.

I am not gunna change the way i am just to make me act like the character from this stupid book.

I think your wife needs therapy. I’m sorry but I think my husband is the sexiest man alive (been married 5 years and it feels like we just got married yesterday ). I wouldn’t let some book interfere with my marriage. It’s a book, NOT real life.

On line gambling, and having sex fantasies about a fictional vampire are 2 totally different things. I think reading is fun, but she is over the top with it, especially when your in bed and shes just laying there?

If you are getting to the point that your anger is rubbing off on the kids, then you need to take a “timeout” and try and cool off because you don’t want the kids acting out, because that will just make things 10 times worse.

my wife always claims she does everything around the house but that is far from true. i work 40+ hours a week and i come home to a very messy house and messy children. sometimes my kids are still in their pjs and the messes they make throughout the day are everywhere. i know its hard to take of kids on your own but i dont understand how she claims i don’t do enough when i do my share. she cooks dinner but she might only do 3 loads of laundry a week. my oldest daughter has been asking her to clean her room because you cant even walk through it and she still hasnt tried. i guess i should try helping more but it seems overwhelming to me i just don’t know how it got this messy. she plays games and stays online all day. she goes to school online and i help with the kids at night to help her out with school work. what should i say or do

You don’t state the ages of your children or how many children you have. I am guessing if they are not dressing themselves, they are quite young. If all the kids are under the age of five, this can be overwhelming. It is a lot of work taking care of kids and to go to school, online. Your wife might also be depresses and why she is escaping” by playing online games. There isn’t much interaction with adults when you are home alone with only the kids to play with.

I know it isn’t fair because you are out, working all day and expect to come home to a decent home and the kids to be more presentable. Tell your wife she should make an appointment to see her doctor and evaluate her for depression. Then make an appointment for marriage counseling to help the both of you through this.

How long did it take you to date after you and your spouse split up if you were the hurt party or not? Did you have any anxiety? What feelings did you feel while out there on the dating scene? Ive been searated for about 17 months now and I feel like I can date…but there are times when I still think about my ho of an almost ex wife who left me and the kids for online video game buddies she met that are almost half her age. Javier — You owe it to yourself to get out and start socializing, even with friends or setting up potential dates. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself, but also, make sure you have a clear mind, so that you don’t necessarily think the next women that comes along in your life is going to do the same as your ex. There are a lot of “good people” out there, just as their are a lot of “not so good”. Its very unfortunate for what happen to you, but you are a survivor. I can tell you are tough and you are battling through this, at the same time, being the best father you can to your kids. I commend you for that and wish you nothing but the best in 2009. Should I let my wife leave and be single?

My wife tried to leave me and my kids over the weekend. We have 4 young children together. I’m 33 and she’s a year younger. We have been married for just over 10 years (known her for 13 yrs since high school) I have found out that she likes girls recently (bi-curious perhaps) and that she’s been seeing/talking to/messing with some female. She tried to leave and I basically begged her to stay to try to work things out but I feel like it maybe a lost cause.

I fear because I don’t know the first thing of the dating game these days with online dating and its been years since i’ve stepped in a club or bar, I dont even know if I can function as a single person. Besides, with 4 children thats a hard sell to anybody. Deep down I love my wife and I want to be with her but if I’m wasting my time I feel it should be sooner than later that I let her go before I get any older and I make that hard sell even harder. I have been torn over this whole thing. Need serious advice..please help

At this point, dating should be pretty low priority. Your kids need your attention and devotion. If you’re hooked up with a girlfriend too soon, the kids won’t likely accept her. I’m not saying you shouldn’t date, I just think you need to give it some time. This is so recent and you need to process it before you become involved with another woman.

I am 38, obese, no job, live with my parents. Can I ever live a normal life?

I am just so depressed… It’s like video games have ruined my life. I have not life, no friends, no job, no car, house, or anything. I am 38 years old and I have to live with my parents because I have no job or money to pay for a house. I have nothing at all. I’m just a lazy piece of **** and that’s all I’ll ever be. I stay in the house all day and the last time I left the house was about 3 months ago.

There is this online game called World of Warcraft (WoW) and I am addicted to it. I spend about 28 hours a day playing it nonstop either in my room, or in the basement/lounge room. I have a lv 80 blood elf paladin. When I’m not playing WoW, I’m playing my Xbox 360 or my PS3. I have an extremely high gamerscore and a lot of people think I cheat, but they don’t know, I really have all the time I can want in my hands. I have no set sleeping schedule and I usually go to sleep every 32-38 hours only for about 6 hours because I am so busy playing. I mostly eat while playing so I am obese (5’11, 546 pounds) and have developed high cholesterol.

Idk… I just feel like a piece of ****. I am worthless. You don’t know how many times I’ve tried to get my like back together and out of this crap but I can’t I just can’t! No matter what I do it’s hopeless. This isn’t the life I’ve ever wanted to live. I want a wife, kids, a family, friends, but it is all too late for me to and no one would want me because I have no experience, a bad housing record, and am nothing. I keep thinking what happens when my parents die. Then what, where would I go?

Is there any hope for me? Can I ever live a normal life and maybe get married, or is this just it?

Wow dude. How did you let yourself go like that?
Anyway, I’m going to attempt to be helpful here, lol, but it’s something that takes willpower and dedication.

1. Lose weight. Yeah you’ve heard it billions of times before, probably. But seriously do it. Get a diet off your doctor and stick to it. Personally, I’d start eating a healthy diet (about 1,500 cals a day) and exercising for one hour a day. This will take time.. Yes about 2-3 years at the very least, but if you’re going to change your life it’s worth it.

2. Consider going back into education or job training. I suppose a careers counselor will be best to help you with this.

3. Sell your Xbox 360, your PlayStation 3 and maybe your computer. Remove the addictions from your life, seriously. Changing your life needs TOTAL DEDICATION

3. Get mental health help. You probably have depression and anxiety or something, so these will need tackling.

You’re 38.. It’s not early, and that’s a consequence of your lifestyle. But you still have a good few years youth left. You could get a girlfriend in the next ten years and maybe adopt a child or go into fostering.

I’m really surprised your parents let you degrade yourself into that mess. Seriously. Mine would kick my ass out as soon as I became a hermit/slob. Lol.

But yeah. I think you KNOW what to do. You just need the WILL to do it.

U have to wait until at least 6 weeks- 3 months depending on where u get it done…….some places want them to have their 1st check up/shots
also it better to get it done at a young age because as babies get older they skin will change and also it will hurt less and will have a lesser risk for an infection

most ppl she that they pulled theirs out the earlier u get it done she wont know they are there. Also its more easier to get it done now because all u have to do is take the solution that they give u and use a q-tip and clean around them and turn them (they give u instructions on what to do)
when i turned 16 i got my 2nd and 3rd hole and they hurt like hell and the cleaning was much more then what i had to do for my daughter

If you are good at hacking you can change it back because you have to reset the values you froze. The easiest way to do this is by re-downloading cheat engine and re-finding the values and clicking the unfreeze button

A few months ago I found a grooming kit also “hidden” in car. Why he would hide this I don’t know. i always heard that it is never too late to start ballet…im 20 n i really want to take up ballet class. i have call all the ballet school in Penang whether beginner adult ballet is available, but non of them.
some got shock n said “huh? u r 19?”, some said it is only for kids(beginner), some said that they need more adult beginner students to start a class.
is it OK to take up private ballet class? i guess it must be like 5 times or ?times more expensive than the group class?

It’s because of the economics law of supply and demand: the higher the demand for a commodity or service, the lower the price and the more widespread the availability of that product or service.

Likewise, the lower the demand for a product or service, the higher it’s price and the lower it’s availability.

Here’s an easy example. Let’s say you’re looking to buy a dress and you are an average sized person. Compared to a tiny person or a very large person, it will not only be easier for you to find your dress of choice, but you will be able to find it at a lower price than your less average sized peers.

Similarly, since fewer 20 year olds than 10 year olds are likely to take ballet, it will cost the 20 year olds more and there will be fewer schools from which to choose (compared to the 10 year olds)

but i don’t need to tell you that’s no reason not to take classes

take a private class if you can afford it. On the plus side, you will get more individualized attention and possibly progress faster than you would in a group class.

Why would a guy that you talk to daily and have been for around 10 months or any guy for that matter, tell a girl these things if he didn’t mean them:
“I love you”
“I’m never too busy for you”
“Anything you ever need from me I will do”
“I’m falling in love with you”
“I could see you as my wife”
“Have I told you lately that I love you? If not I do, ok”
“If you were available I would spend my time with you”
“You motivate me to be strong and get me through my day”

I know it may be a little early considering my situation, but I guess it’s never too early to get some tips.

I’m a freshman in high school, and it’s a cliche question but what chances do I have at getting into a top 30 college so far?

ALL my classes are honors, and here are my first trimester grades:

So far, the only thing I am involved in is Orchestra. The clubs available now aren’t particularly interesting to me and I would rather do things I enjoy than to overload for no reason. I’m waiting for Model UN and Mock Trial to be announced. I am also going to become a representative for my freshman class on the Student Council, and I have already completed 18 hours of comunity service.

I know my grades are good but to get into a really really good college, I just get the feeling I need to be flawless*
Meaning all 90′s and above. I will try my hardest to pull my 80-something grades to 90s but, as long as I keep my overall average above an 89 am I on the right track?

Here is the best advice I can give to anyone:
- CONSISTENCY is the key. Anyone can get high marks, but the trick is to keep it up there.
- Study in an appropriate, distraction free place. Even paint the walls a calm color.
- Complete all your homework and assignments. Do NOT procrastinate.
- Read, read , READ. At least one book a week. It does wonders.

Your mark at the moment are really good, keep it up. 90+ is a great goal to start with for you report card, but for individual assignments and exams aim for 95+, it’ll pay off.

We want to state this again given the increase in speculation about credit card information being used fraudulently. One report indicated that a group tried to sell millions of credit card numbers back to Sony. To my knowledge there is no truth to this report of a list, or that Sony was offered an opportunity to purchase the list.
One other point to clarify is from this weekend’s press conference. While the passwords that were stored were not “encrypted,” they were transformed using a cryptographic hash function. There is a difference between these two types of security measures which is why we said the passwords had not been encrypted. But I want to be very clear that the passwords were not stored in our database in cleartext form. For a description of the difference between encryption and hashing, follow this link.
To reiterate a few other security measures for your information: Sony will not contact you in any way, including by email, asking for your credit card number, social security number or other personally identifiable information. If you are asked for this information, you can be confident Sony is not the entity asking. When the PlayStation Network and Qriocity services are fully restored, we strongly recommend that you log on and change your password. I’m 25years old a B-com graduate and currently pursuing MBA 2nd sem through distance education. It’s almost 4 years I started working, and still didn’t stick to a particular job. Till now I joined 5 companies and resigned due to unsatisfactory of the job profile. First 3 companies I worked as marketing person (Manager, Team Leader, Executive) I got those position in a decreasing order which made my life despondent. This all situations making me depress in my life.

How ever my thinking and interest are; but money too matters me, because as I’m from a middle-class family, I don’t even own a computer or a bike, my financial state is not so strong. I love to work in a free environment where all minds think something creative. Please suggest me in which field I must go and which are the fields that suit me the most?

If you are thinking of a career in photography then you should decide which kind of photography you might like to do. Portraiture, travel, photo-journalism to name but a few.

He’s a party type very social happy go lucky guy. When we met, he assumed I’m the same bc my friends are the center of attention pretty girls but then got to know me and realize I’m super shy studious and just have the right looks and right circle of friends. He became shy or vulnerable and I indirectly played games. He blocked me from fb bc he wants know regrets, a lthough we really never did anything (we hadn’t even hugged). I found out and sent him a msg saying it was rude and immature but I did like him. He tried to approach me but I ignored him, esp after when I smiled noticing him something I made and then him running the other way.
Anyway after that when he saw me next he glared at me but then wouldn’t stop staring and softened over.
I saw him at a eatout-hangout place. At first I decided not to go in but I’m sick of avoiding him bc I did nothing rude. HE was outside with his friend and sitting on a bench that faced me. Instead of facing his friend, he was facing inside the store, directly where I was sitting. I couldn’t concentrate (finals next day and I had brought my books) so I decide to leave. So I say, “I just thought I should say bye.” We stare at each other for 6-7 seconds to which he looks happy and releived, and he gets up and gives me a really big bear hug for long time. I coudlnt hug back. I’m a bit touch phobic. He and his friend exchange looks. After I leave to my car and call my friend, he and his friend get quite and are talking more softly. They get up to leave and go to the car. HE looks at me before going in, happy and confused.
At grad, I see him staring at me and my family but looks down when I notice and is smiling.

He didn’t unblock me from fb thoughI can see from my family fb and though I told him the email to block that one too he hasn’t. He’s still single. Mutual friend says he just wrote about partying and drinking in all his statuses. Supposedly he has no evident love interest. Why did he have to block me to begin with. Yes he THOUGHT i was the party type but I mean, it’s not like I’m his mother to lecture him. I never would. Plus, why didn’t he just delete me as a friend.
My gut rxn says, he does like me but is confused and doesn’t know what he wants and really wants to live up his life. It’s just. I didn’t leave the door opens. I never exchanged numbers nor did we get to know another very well. He just started to dress up, come to classes early, his friends would leave us alone and then KABAM he ran the other way.

I personally think he likes you. According to your story, you were playing a bit hard to get lately, which is actually not bad. As far as my life goes, i am kind of a bit of both, party and quiet person, i mean i go to college, but i much prefer parties lol, well if i had to choose a girlfriend, i’d probably try to go for the one that is not the easiest, but not too hard either. You playing a bit hard to get may have gotten his attention and he msy be now trying to get your attention.

So to answer your question, i think that he’s in to you. If you like him, then try to drop SMALL hints that you like him, like maybe give him a smile sometimes that may cause him thinking what you’re up to, or maybe some other hints… Well you girls know better about dropping hints. Also, if you like him and want to be with him, try to ease up a bit, slowly, dont let him get too close, but at the same time, give him that smile or look that will keep him wanting to talk to you. Just dont make him suffer and wait too long… Lol

Last thursday night at the school dance, my friend was talking to him and she’s like,”i was talking to Travis and he said to me that he knows that you like him but he just doesn’t like you back” but, why is he giving me signs he likes me?

like the monday after halloween me and my friend went up to his classroom and he sees us and he walks up to where i was standing and just stand there and adn gives me some candy and then i had some gum and he took the whole pack and then he was playful pushing me over so he could go in the spot where i was and then a few days after he was being mean to me so i go to his class and i’m like,”why are you acting like this?” and he had his head down and he’s like,”i’m not doing anything” then i could see that he smiled.

so me and my bestfriend (guy) hasnt seen each other in awhile so recently we plan to hang out….since he dosent have a car at the moment, we both catch the bus together and we both live separetly from different cities so we meet each other at the city between ours. when we saw each other, we had to wait for the next bus so we went to the gas station, I was very surprised that he withdrawed money for me to buy a whole day bus pass so that I dont have to use my coins everytime we go on the bus but i told him its ok so then he still keeps it and will use when I run out. he’s sweet eh! he brought me to the places that I wanted to go and as we were in the mall, he asked if I wanted something from the foodcourt and I said no, he asked me “are you sure?”….afterwards he showed me the shops that I wanted to go…while walking, im not sure if hes making me jealous but he was checking this girl out in front of me saying “how hot” she is, so i told him why dont you ask her out then he says…i might get in trouble by the police!!! whhaattt??? i know right…after what i wanted to do in the mall I followed him and we mostly went shopping hahaha like buying new clothes/shoes etc….and of course he asked me, he followed me and choose the kind of shoes that I like for him

after the mall, since it was super hot, we dropp by to the gas station and asked if I wanted anything and I said no….he has asked me like 4 times in a day if I wanted anything and that I can choose whatever I want in the store lol….he brought me to my favourite park…bring me to the casino to check it out…had a nice chat at a coffee shop….he has kept his promise that he makes sure I wont miss my bus when I go back home….inside the bus, as he was dropping me home….he let me sit down first before he does there was a lot of people in the bus….he asked if I had a good time and I said yes then I hugged him, he was smiling…..as we arrived we went to the gas station again and asked me if I wanted anything lol then he waited with me for my bus to come as well with his sister to pick him up…I hugged him again while saying good bye….he was smiling again hahaha….oooo and it looks like hes copying me since I always wear sunglasses but its broken now but he bring and wore in front of me….this time I wore a hat because I had a haircut…then he goes saying that he needs one as well….everytime, he tries to copy me….he even noticed when I removed my jacket off….he also asked me if I was wearing anything underneath my jacket and he looked “over” there and complimented on me….lol….does he liiiiiiikkkkkkkkkeeee me???? What would you do if your mom was being verbally abused by another man?

Quite a bit read, please bare with me… I really need advice because I can’t talk to many people about this.

My mom and step dad have been married for 19 years now, and they have one child together. In fact she got pregnant first and they married two months later. They married when I was only 4 years old and I lived with them until I was 15 and endured extreme verbal abuse from him and so did my mom. Luckily for me I was able to move in with my dad and I didn’t have to put up with it anymore. I am now 25 and I have noticed that my step dad has mellowed out a bit, but a small part of me still saw signs that he’s still mean to my mom. He’s the kind of man where you have to walk on egg shells around him or else he will make you feel like you have no self worth. After a very alarming phone call with him yesterday where he just snapped and got very angry over nothing I am beginning to wonder if he’s still being mean to my mom. I have images stuck in my head from when I was a kid and my mom was crying uncontrollably on the floor because of him. Should I confront her and ask her if he’s still mean or is it none of my business. My goal isn’t to end their marriage, I love him a lot and I want him to get help for his issues and treat my mom well. I want my mom to be happy and not feel like she’s walking on egg shells all the time.

He has called my mom worthless on many occasions, told her she isn’t worth the air she breathes, things like that… after he has these episodes he will apologize with so much compassion and tears in his eyes that your mind will play tricks on you and make you feel bad for being angry with him in the first place… and so you feel compelled to forgive him. It’s an on going cycle with him.

My mom had expressed to me years ago that she was thinking of leaving but she couldn’t because he told her that he wouldn’t give her a dime and he would take her daughter away from her. So please don’t make it out like she could just leave that easily. She’s brainwashed by him
